Biotech company Galileo Laboratories, Santa Clara, CA, has forged a research alliance with the Florida Department of Citrus, based in Lakeland, to identify and enhance the understanding of the health benefits of citrus-derived products. Under the agreement, the Florida Department of Citrus will fund research at Galileo to profile citrus derived natural products for cardiovascular health benefits. Data obtained from the alliance will be applied to commercialize products fortified with specific citrus phytonutrients with newly identified health benefits.
